Our children participated in the event organised by Department of Disabled welfare. The programs where our children participated were on Sports on 1st December ,
Cultural program on 2nd December. The concluding function for all disabled children and adults was organised at indoor stadium Bengaluru for the whole staff on 3 rd
December (World disabled day).
There was an exhibition arranged by WARDS showcasing our products on 17th December at Vaidehi Institute for special children. The Christmas program was organised on the evening of 23 rd December. There were many donors who contributed for the Christmas program - Mrs.Lidwin Squares, Mr.Gilbert Cutino, Fr.Pastor Pushpa Raj, and Mr.Lamba (Chairman of the senior citizen of Domlur donated Rs.10000), Miss.Sowmya (donated cakes for the function) and Sneha and her group (from Plivo Communication hosted lunch for children and staff of WARDS and donated four boxes of toys, old and new, which would be used for children in teaching).
Children and staff were given Christmas vacation from 24th Dec 2016 to 1st Jan, 2017.
On 4 th November, 2016, Sling Media IT company, at the request of WARDS, came forward to donate school bags and other stationery materials to Government primary school, adopted by WARDS. Out of the 135 children in this Government school 7 are disabled children. WARDS distributed the bags and other painting materials to the entire school including the children of WARDS. Thanks to the sling Media, Private Limited. Children’s day was celebrated on 14 th November. 2016 in our campus. IRC Bangalore has organised art and drawing competition for all differently abled children at Kalaangana, Shankarapura, Bengaluru, where our children also participated.
On 29 th November, Drawing Competition for 500 differently abled children excluding visually impaired, was organised at Bal Bhavan, by Department of Differently abled and Senior Citizens. WARDS provided all the required materials for drawing and painting to 500 differently abled children, which was sponsored by Sling Media IT Company, on our request.
The products (Candles, Jewellery, Trays, Chalks, and Diyas) made by our students and staff from our Vocational Centre were exhibited in various IT companies from
21 st to 28 th October, 2016. The IT companies which helped us to organise the stall in their companies are Sling Media Consulting Private Limited, Old Airport Road and Knolsape, Indiranagar. We thank the staff of these companies for their support.
On 23 rd October, Mrs. Pradeepa Anchala, Treasurer of WARDS organised a Diwali Mela in the premises of WARDS showcasing all the products fromWARDS. There were various games, food and music to entertain the crowd.
Mr. Mohan Manghnani the chairman of the New Horizon school came forward to Devine and sink a bore well in the campus of WARDS in order to provide sufficient water for WARDS. The bore well was sunk in October and now there is adequate supply of water from this bore well. We wish to thank Mr. Mohan Manghnani for his continued patronage.
Ayudha Pooja was celebrated in the campus as usual on 28 th October, with children and staff. Mr Muthuswamy, the ex-treasurer of WARDS performed the Pooja. After Pooja, sweets were distributed to all the children and staff.
